Donna Smith is the sole owner and creator behind Smith and Anvil jewelry, a full time metalsmith and artist based in Syracuse, NY. With a passion for history and storytelling, Donna incorporates previously loved items into her work - each piece bearing a connection to the past. To old glass cabochons and vintage tin to found objects and religious medals, she combines these treasures with the Earth’s natural elements of metal and stone to create jewelry that is both rustic and refined. Her designs embrace the philosophy of being “perfectly imperfect”.

Raised in the Catholic faith, Donna infuses her creations with spiritual and religious symbolism, crafting modern amulets and talismans that embody love, friendship and protection. Deeply inspired by the Victorian era, her work channels it’s timeless aesthetic while adding a contemporary touch. She often pairs mixed metals like bronze and oxidized sterling silver with vibrant enamel finishes, evoking the look and feel of antique heirlooms.
